Civil Engineering (CE)

Department of Civil Engineering (CE) offers Under Graduate program in Civil Engineering. Civil Engineering is related to planning, designing and executing the structural works. A civil engineer is responsible for planning and designing a project, constructing the project to the required scale and maintaining the product. Such profession deals with a wide variety of engineering tasks including designing, supervision and construction activities of public works like roads, bridges, tunnels, buildings, airports, dams, water works, sewage systems, ports etc. and offers a multitude of challenging career opportunities. The major specializations within civil engineering are structural, water resources, environmental, construction, transportation, geo-technical engineering etc.
At the end of the course, the students are expected to

Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME)

Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) offers Under Graduate program in Mechanical Engineering . This is a core engineering discipline that was developed from the application of principles from physics and material science which involves the analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance of various systems. This field requires a solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, material science and energy. Mechanical Engineers are concerned with all types of machinery and their mechanism as well as functioning, design, development, construction, production, installation and operation of all mechanical systems in industries including power plants, transport equipments, air-conditioning, boilers, refrigerators and internal combustion. The Mechanical Engineer is also responsible for maintenance and repair.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)

Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) offers Under Graduate program in Computer Science and Engineering . It is a discipline that combines both computer science and computer engineering altogether. Computer Engineers usually get training in software design and hardware-software integration. Computer Engineers are involved with many aspects of computing starting from the design of individual micro-processors, personal computers and super computers to circuit design. This field of engineering not only focuses on working of computer systems but also their integration into the larger pictures. They work with one of the most important office automation products-computers-in, an expanding technological field. Computer Engineers design the computer and its control systems (the hardware) and also develop computer softwares (the computer programs). Usually they get themselves engaged in improving the end products and building state-of the-art equipments like super computers, multimedia machines, graphic terminals, laser and inkjet printers, Plentium based machines etc.

Department of Electrical Engineering (EE)

Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) offers Under Graduate program in Electrical Engineering. Electrical Engineers usually concerned with using electricity to transmit energy. It is considered to deal with the problems associated with large-scale electrical systems such as power transmission and control. This course provides a basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles along with the required supporting knowledge of mathematics, science, computing and engineering fundamentals. Students then choose to specialize in one or more sub-disciplines towards the end of the degree. Power Engineering deals with generation, transmission and distribution of electricity as well as the design of a range of related devices which includes transformers, electric generators, electric motors, high voltage engineering and power electronics. Control Engineering focuses on the modeling of a diverse range of dynamic systems and the design of controllers that will cause these systems to behave in the desired manner. To implement such controllers, Electrical Engineers may use electrical circuits, digital signal processors, micro-controllers and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).

Department of Humanities and Basic Sciences

Department of Humanities and Basic Sciences offers teaching in foundation courses of Engineering . This basic knowledge insists the students to analyse and visualise engineering objectives essential for pursuing engineering profession.
The department as a whole conducts proctorial meetings for all the first year students and communicates with the parents and/or local guardians about the performance, problem, discipline, regularity and other relevant issues from time to time.
